Going Green: Thanksgiving

Looking for ways to have a greener Thanksgiving this year?

Here are some tips!

Instead of eating a turkey, adopt a turkey!  (Don't worry, it gets to live happily on a farm. You don't have to take it home with you!)

If leaving the turkey off the table doesn't work for you, consider a free range turkey or organic turkey. Both are healthier for you and contain less "filler."

Go paperless! Instead of paper napkins, use cloth napkins! And show some class with real glass, and leave the paper and plastic cups behind. The same goes for silverware over plasticware.

Go greener, be healthier, and support your local economy by buying your groceries at a local farmer's market, rather than canned goods from a store.

Donate your leftover turkey fat to power a biofuel car!

Say thanks by giving back! Start a new family tradition by planting a tree to show your gratitude!

Remember that more bodies in the room warm the room up quicker. So turn the thermostat down a few degrees to compensate. Burns less fuel and saves a few more dollars.
